Final balance for accomodation must be paid in full 7 days prior to arrival date. Single supplement €60 per night. Alternative single accomodation can be arranged nearby. Due to volume of customers at Scotts we cannot take individual payments from each member in the group.

Who is Martina McGrenaghan?

As an experienced Tour Guide and group Leader for many years, and a volunteer with a national charity that supports social inclusion, Martina founded "Home Alone, Away Together," as a community-driven travel initiative, providing authentic, stress-free, expertly led travel experiences, to help people stay socially connected and mentally well, as our personal relationships and circumstances evolve across the lifespan.

Martina offers travel, social and learning experiences that bring people together in a spirit of curiosity, camaraderie, and friendship, thus empowering people to take responsibility for their own social well-being. Book your seat and jump onboard!

Before You Go

Once you book a place on a tour and pay a deposit or a full payment, your seat is secured.  You will receive a confirmation of your booking with basic information about your booking, which will include your name and the names of any others on the same booking. 

For overnight tours your confirmation will include your rooming choice, dining preferences, special requests and payment information. 

Once registered on a tour you will receive updates on the itinerary, information on pickup points (and parking) to join the tour, emergency contact information, guidance on what to bring with you on the tour to stay safe and well. 

Some tours may require trip specific information, for which we will contact you when necessary.  

Do I need to book in advance?

Absolutely. It’s also highly advisable to book as early as possible, as tours require minimum numbers to go ahead. 

Can I change or cancel my booking?

If your plans change at short notice, we endeavour to rearrange your booking to another tour. If a booking cannot be changed a 48-hour cancellation policy will apply. 

How to book and pay for a tour?

Once you make a booking, payment can be made by bank transfer Cheque, Revolut or cash payment.  Get in touch for full payment details.

How can I stay updated on upcoming tours and special offers?

Stay updated by subscribing to our newsletter. We regularly send out information about upcoming tours, special discounts and exciting new experiences happening locally and nationally.

How do I refer a friend and receive a voucher?

If you refer a friend who books a tour with us, you’ll receive a €10 voucher for your next adventure. Make sure your friend mentions your name when booking, and we'll apply the voucher to your account.

Can I join multiple tours?

Yes, you can join as many tours as you like! We offer a variety of tours, each with unique experiences, so feel free to book multiple tours to explore different aspects of Ireland.

What is included in the tour price?

As far as possible, our tours are all-inclusive. This includes transportation, entry fees to all sites, meals, and any activities or workshops included in the itinerary. 

What if I need to cancel my booking?

Whilst we would like to offer a No-Risk Booking Guarantee, we work within the booking parameters of our suppliers. As far as possible we can accept late cancellations, 48 hours before the tour for a refund, however refunds are subject to the goodwill of our suppliers. Please contact our customer service team to notify your cancellation.

Frequent traveller/Loyalty programme

In the coming months we will introduce a Loyalty programme to reward our regular travellers. 

Do you offer personalised itineraries?

The main focus of Home Alone Away Together Tours is on group activities and cohesion, and as such, the itinerary set out on each tour will be strictly followed. However, we welcome all new ideas for tours, so don’t hesitate to share your expectations. Furthermore, on every tour there will be time to do your own thing, which will allow you to add your own personal touch to your travel experience.

What measures are in place for health and safety?

We prioritise the health and safety of all our guests. All our tours adhere to the latest health guidelines, where relevant. Changes in public health guidelines will be published on our website.
